Applications
- Primer sanding
- Automotive paint shops
- Surface levelling before topcoat
The Gangying D98 Sanding Disc is the green disc in the range, built around specialty aluminum oxide for primer sanding and paint-shop surface leveling. Its role is not heavy stripping; it is for the stages where a body shop needs a clean, controlled cut before topcoat.
The line comes in 4 in (100 mm) and 5 in (125 mm), with P60-P600 as the core grit range. Other standard grits can be made to order when a buyer needs a paint-shop assortment outside the listed range.
Paint-shop positioning
D98 is aimed at primer sanding, automotive paint shops and surface leveling before topcoat. Those applications all need the same thing: a disc that cuts the surface evenly enough for the next coating stage, without leaving the operator fighting a loaded or glazed abrasive face.
The existing product note highlights cut rate. In practical terms, that makes the disc useful when a shop needs to level primer or an intermediate paint surface without spending excessive time on each panel.
Grit logic from P60-P600
The range is wide enough to cover coarse correction and finer preparation:
- P60-P100 - stronger correction where primer, old surface texture or repair work needs to be leveled quickly.
- P120-P180 - general paint-shop sanding and smoothing after the first cut.
- P240-P320 - preparation before moving toward topcoat or a finer finish.
- P400-P600 - fine sanding stages where the scratch pattern must be shallower.
Because automotive and primer work often uses a sequence, many buyers order several grits together rather than a single grade.
4 in and 5 in disc choices
The 4 in (100 mm) disc suits localized repair areas, edges and smaller machine pads. The 5 in (125 mm) disc gives more coverage for panels and broader surface leveling. Both sizes are common enough that distributors can stock them for mixed paint-shop demand.
The frontmatter lists packing by size: 100 discs per box, with 3,000 pcs per carton for 4 in and 2,000 pcs per carton for 5 in. That information is useful when planning carton-level purchases or comparing storage space by diameter.
Specialty aluminum oxide abrasive
The abrasive specification is specialty aluminum oxide with a green abrasive face. It is selected for the D98 paint-shop role: primer sanding, leveling and preparation before the next finish layer. The green face also makes it easy to distinguish from red, white, blue and black sanding products in the Gangying range.
The disc is not described as a waterproof paper or a cloth roll; it should be quoted and stocked as a sanding disc line for paint and primer applications.
Inquiry notes
The reference price shown above covers the listed disc sizes. When sending an inquiry, include diameter, grit mix and carton or box quantity. If the target use is primer sanding or surface leveling before topcoat, say so in the message so the quotation can be matched to the intended paint-shop sequence.
