The JB-5 Soft Cloth Hook-and-Loop Sanding Disc is a conformable flocked disc for furniture flat sanding, metal and stone surfaces, rust removal, and jade or stone polishing. The soft cloth body is the main point: it follows the work better than a stiff paper disc while still using a hook-and-loop back for quick changes.
The abrasive is calcined brown aluminum oxide, and the disc works wet or dry. It is available in 4 in (100 mm) and 5 in (125 mm), with a P60-P600 range.
Soft cloth feel, hook-and-loop workflow
Paper-backed discs have their place, but the JB-5 is for buyers who want more flexibility at the backing. The existing product note highlights soft cloth that resists edge fraying, curled rims and torn velour. That matters when the disc is used on furniture parts, mixed surfaces or stone work where the contact is not always perfectly flat.
The flocked hook-and-loop back keeps operation simple. A user can change grits without adhesive residue, then return a partly used disc to the pad if it still has life left.
P60-P600 grit sequence
The range is broad enough for removal and finishing preparation:
- P60-P100 - stronger cut for rust removal, rough sanding and early surface correction.
- P120-P240 - general flat sanding on furniture, metal or stone surfaces.
- P320-P600 - finer polishing preparation, including jade and stone polishing stages.
Because the product covers different materials, the right grit depends on the surface hardness and the finish stage. The safest inquiry includes both grit and application.
Diameter choice
The 4 in (100 mm) disc is useful for smaller pads, localized sanding and parts that need more control. The 5 in (125 mm) disc covers more area and is common for general sanding work. Both are packed 100 discs per box.
Buyers stocking for mixed workshops often keep both sizes because furniture, metal and stone work may use different pad formats.
Abrasive and wet/dry use
Calcined brown aluminum oxide is listed as the abrasive. It gives the disc a consistent cutting face across the P60-P600 range. Wet and dry use is also listed, so the same disc line can be quoted for dry workshop sanding or wet sanding where the process calls for water.
The product should not be described as a diamond-pattern disc or a paper dry sheet; the distinguishing specification is soft cloth with flocked backing.
Inquiry notes
The reference price shown above is per piece. Send an inquiry with disc diameter, grit mix, box quantity and the main material - furniture, metal, stone, rust removal or jade polishing - so the quote can match the working surface.
